Delivering evidence-based care and treatment
At the assessment on 14 March 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations:
Improvements had been made to clinicians` understanding of the new staging and grading system for the management of periodontal patients, guidelines for antibiotic prophylaxis for endocarditis patients, antimicrobial prescribing, management of patients on anticoagulants and the use of rubber dam. Further improvements could be made to ensure clinicians provided a clear rationale in the patient care notes if they diverted from nationally recognised guidance.
Clinicians had an improved understanding of their responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, the concept of Gillick competency and parental consent.
We noted that improvements had been made to the practice record keeping standards. Further improvements could be made to ensure the information recorded in these patient care records was in line with recognised guidance.
