Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 3 February 2025

Dates of assessment were from 12 to 26 February 2025, and we visited the site on 18 February 2025. This is the first inspection of this newly registered service. Carelytical home care is a domiciliary care service that provides care and support for people in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of the inspection the service was supporting 12 people with personal care.

The service had a robust pre-assessment system in place and safe recruitment processes for staff. Training and supervisions were completed regularly, and staff felt the registered manager was supportive and knowledgeable.

Care plans were in place for all service users, but they were not always robust or sufficiently detailed. We found people did not have risk assessments to guide staff on how to manage or mitigate risks to people, such as mobility issues. However, the registered manager took immediate action to implement these, which were reviewed and of good detail. Overall, governance systems and processes were not robust or implemented effectively. Therefore, improvement was required to ensure good oversight of the service.

People's experience of the service

Updated 3 February 2025

People and relatives all provided positive feedback for the quality of care and support they received from the service. They felt safe and had been involved in the planning of the care required. People received good quality care, from a consistent and knowledgeable staff team who treated them as individuals. One person said, “The care staff are wonderful, they are very caring and it’s the same staff each day, I know them well now.” People were treated with kindness and compassion and staff protected their privacy and dignity. People were treated as individuals with their preferences respected, and staff contributed to the maintenance of important relationships within their family and friends’ groups. One relative told us, “The carers became like my friends and family. They didn’t just look after [relative], they looked after me and my wellbeing too.” Another person told us, “They update my family on my care visits, so they know how I am doing. It’s been good having them.” People and relatives told us they felt able to complain and were confident action would be taken. They all told us they had no reason to complain, but felt the manager was approachable and knew them well enough to support with concerns if they needed it. People and relatives we spoke with described the relationship between staff and them as being like having friends or family visit.
