At the assessment on 18 March 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

Emergency medical equipment was available in line with recognised guidance. We noted that checks of the availability and effectiveness of equipment were now carried out but not always within recommended timeframes. The provider immediately took action to increase the frequency of these checks.

Records of ongoing monitoring of the effective operation of fire detection and suppression equipment were now in place.

Assessments were in place for the identification and mitigation of risk associated with sharps injury, lone working and health and safety.

Safe and effective staffing

At the assessment on 18 March 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

Recruitment procedures were updated to reflect recognised guidance. Staff files for newly recruited staff that we reviewed contained all required pre-employment information.

Infection prevention and control

At the assessment on 18 March 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

Processes for recording of actions taken to mitigate risk from legionella, including monitoring of water temperatures and flushing of seldom used outlets were in place and completed in line with guidance.

Decontamination processes were completed in line with recognised guidance. Records of changes of gloves and brushes were kept. All single-use items and any materials that had exceeded the manufacturers use by date were disposed of.

Clinical waste was stored securely and disposed of safely by qualified contractors.

Monitoring to ensure required tasks associated with the effective cleaning, replenishment and maintenance of clinical areas were in place and reflected recognised guidance.
