Independence, choice and control
People were generally supported to remain independent by kind and considerate staff. However, some people needed additional help and encouragement with personal care and hygiene, and this was not always done in a way to support them effectively. People were not supported to experience a wide range of activities and broaden their horizons as there was no activity co-ordinator. A number of people told us they wished there was more to do and said, “It’s boring.” The new management team told us they were appointing a staff member to step into the role of activity coordinator.
