During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 1 November 2024.

We found the practice had met all regulations.

Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place.

The practice had systems to manage risks.

Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation.

Patrick Mcanerney dental practice is in Muswell Hill, in the London Borough of Haringey and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

The practice had 2 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal dentist, the dental nurse, and the practice manager.

During a routine inspection

The young person we spoke with told us she thought ' The care here is excellent.'

We observed high levels of care and customer service in a clean and hygienic environment. There was clearly respect for the dentist and a very welcoming practice.

Patient's privacy, dignity and independence were respected. Patient's views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care. Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure patient's safety and welfare.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection and staff received support and training to ensure they could undertake their role. Patients were protected from the risks of unsafe or inappropriate care and treatment because accurate and appropriate records were maintained.
