Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion.

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. One patient told us, “Staff explain every aspect of treatment and take great care to see you are comfortable.”

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. One patient told us, “The dentist is warm and communicates well to my family.” Another patient said, “They always try to accommodate me with appointments.”

The practice collected patient feedback through the NHS Friends and Family Test. Feedback was reviewed and acted on. Patients had commented that it was sometimes difficult to contact the practice as the telephone lines were so busy, and staff were looking at systems to improve this.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
