Date of inspection: 3 February to 21 February 2025. Snowflake is a domiciliary care agency and provides personal care to people living in their own homes. CQC only inspects where people are receiving the regulated activity personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. At the time of this inspection 6 people were receiving support with personal care. This inspection was triggered by information we held about the service and to provide a first rating of the service.
Staff knew people well and received appropriate training and support. Staff were kind and caring and had a good understanding of how to meet people’s needs. There was a system in place to allow people to express any concerns or complaints they may have.
The service learned from incidents and action was taken to ensure improvements were made where needed. There was a clear safeguarding and whistleblowing policy available with details of which agencies to contact in the event of any concern. Staff had been recruited safely and there were sufficient, well-trained staff to meet people's needs. People were supported to safely take the medicines they had been prescribed.
Staff worked with other services to ensure people’s needs were met effectively. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of people's individual needs. People were involved in decisions about their care. People and their relatives had been involved in developing their care plans and setting out how they wanted to receive care. People had been supported to express their wishes about future care needs.
