Our view of the service

This service is a domiciliary care agency. It provides personal care to people living in their own homes. At the time of our assessment, 3 people were receiving support with personal care. The service provides support for both younger and older adults. Date of assessment: 19 February 2025 We carried out this assessment based upon the rating of the service. The last rating for this service was requires improvement (published 7 November 2022). The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to good governance. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of this regulation.We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.The provider was able to demonstrate they were meeting the principles of Right support, right care, right culture.
The provider assessed people’s support needs before the care package started to ensure they could be met. Care workers completed training to ensure they had up to date knowledge on best practice. Care workers supported people to live healthier lives and met their support needs. The provider had a process to ensure people were supported to consent to their care. Care workers felt they were supported by the registered manager. Information was provided in a format which met people’s communication needs.

People's experience of this service

Relatives felt their family members were safe when they received care in their home. Relatives confirmed they and their family members were involved in the initial assessment and ongoing reviews of the care plans and risk assessments. Relatives felt the care workers had a good relationship with their family members with 1 relative commenting, “[My family member] has a bond with the care worker. [The care worker] also provided friendship and support and helps [family member] access the community and goes to cafes. [The family member] looks forward to seeing the care worker.” People’s care was person centred and met their needs. The relatives felt the service was well run, a relative said, “I think so they are always on the ball. We are happy with the care.” Care workers were kind, caring and treated people with dignity and respect.
